The Goddess

In Gallo-Roman myth, Epona was the protector of horses, mules, and the women and men who trusted their lives to the saddle. Cavalry units carried her image into battle. Stablehands lit candles to her before dawn rides. She did not stand apart from the horse — she stood with it.
Mau Epona Equestrian was named for her on purpose. Every boot we make is built for the woman who treats riding not as a hobby to be dressed for, but as a discipline to be armored for — one hand-stitched pair at a time.
The Making
Marikina City has shod the Philippines for over a century — it is, quite literally, the country's shoe capital. We work with a small circle of its master bootmakers, artisans who learned their trade from parents who learned it from theirs. Nothing here is mass-produced. Nothing is rushed.
Each boot begins with your foot and calf, not a size chart — fitted for the grip and balance riding actually demands.
Full-grain leather is hand-selected and cut by eye, matching grain and thickness to where the boot will flex and hold.
Saddle-stitched by hand along every seam that meets the stirrup, the way cavalry boots were built to outlast their riders.
Burnished, waxed, and inspected pair by pair — a boot doesn't leave Marikina until it's ready to meet a horse.
The House
Mau Epona began with boots. It won't end there. Every category carries the same standard — full-grain leather, hand-stitched in Marikina, finished under the sign of Epona.
Three silhouettes, one standard. Each pair is made to order and takes three to four weeks in the workshop.
